Company code of ethics

The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.

The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.

Challenge Miner’s Lamp to Paskov Mine

31.8.2009

STAŘÍČ – The Challenge Miner’s Lamp, awarded by the OKD Management, has arrived in the Paskov Mine. It means that the Staříč mine has achieved the best results in the second quarter of this year! “I consider it as an appreciation of staff’s dutiful work performance,” said Director Vladislav Szmek. According to him, the planned mining and metrage targets have been “overfulfilled”, and the results in the area of finance and safety have also been excellent.

Marek Červenka, Preparation Operations Supervisor, has been rather surprised at the mine winning the Challenge Miner’s Lamp. “In spite of the fact that all our technological equipment is conventional, it is possible to achieve good results with it,” he declared.

Daniel Sulava, Deputy Mining Operations Supervisor, has pointed out that the geological conditions in this mine do not rank among the ideal ones. “However, we have managed to harmonize the production, metrage, economy and safety,” he added.

In this quarter, the Paskov Mine guys will face some challenges – they will complete the mining of three coalfaces, and afterwards, they will move to start mining the next two coalfaces with very complicated conditions. And on the top of it, there’s a summertime now when holidays are taken. “We will tackle the challenges in a manly manner,” Director sent a message.
