KARVINÁ – One should be grateful that he’s doing well and should sympathize with those who were not so lucky. This sentence was said by Roman Stacha, Engineering Deputy to General Mine Manager, Karviná Mine when he was handing a donation of his department employees over to Vladislav Sobol, Chairman of St. Barbara Civil Association for miners’ children without daddies.
The amount of CZK 18,000, expressed through a symbolic cheque put in an envelope, was clubbed together by senior technicians, who donated portions of their bonuses paid out to them for successful completion of last year’s assignments. “The collection was organized on the motion of senior technical staff who are financially interested to accomplish such objectives,” explained Stacha adding that even though the evolution of the energy sector, water management, surface operations and other sections falling within his competences was not unambiguous during the year, they ultimately fulfilled the Action Plan and managed to complete the good thing. As people accustomed to move in a world of accurate data and knowledgeable about the value of the crown, the technicians also selected the St. Barbara Civil Association to appreciate not only its focus, but also its methods of work and financial management.
“In the case of the St. Barbara Civil Association, we know whom the money will help and what it will be used for. We do not encounter administrative barriers, and the St. Barbara Civil Association’s financial management is transparent and subject to inspections by the mine representatives,” they agreed to say during discussions at an informal meeting. In other words, the work performed by the St. Barbara Civil Association has a clear sense and rules, and the funds are not drawn to cover any bureaucratic assurance of activities, but they are directly provided to those whom they are designed for.
