OSTRAVA –OKD has defended its last year’s first place in the competition of 100 Admired Companies of the Czech Republic. This year, it was also awarded the first place in the Category of “Extraction of Mineral Resources” by a Panel consisting of managers of significant companies, financial analysts, representatives of professional organizations and trade unions.
The other places within our Category were taken by Sokolovská uhelná (Sokolov Coal Mining Company), Severočeské doly (North Bohemian Mines) and DIAMO.
According to the organizers, it is not the business result, but in particular, the long-term value of the company, product quality, relations to the employees, environmental responsibilities and charitable and social activities that are decisive for the final rank.
“It was not easy to achieve such success, and it was much more difficult to defend the first place after a year. It documents the fact that our company pursues proper course in all respects,” Petra Mašínová, Chief PR and Communication Officer, OKD commented on the defence.
The competition is organized by Czech Top 100 company, which has been assessing and making a ranking of Czech companies every year since 1994. For example, it aims at improving the level of information on the Czech business environment, supporting good relations among managers and providing the public with information through mass media.
