Since 2002 this award has been made to businesses subject to the supervision of the Czech Mining Supervisory Office in recognition of excellent results in the area of general safety.
„We humbly accept this award as a recognition of the hard work of the entire team of Lazy Site as well as Karviná Mine workers because the workers move from one site to another and work wherever their help is needed. It is also the merit of the former Site Manager Petr Glas who now works at ČSA Site. For us it is a challenge to put more effort into improving the general safety at all our sites,” said Lazy Site Manager Petr Škorpík when commenting on the award.
As part of the Golden Permon award the number of work injuries resulting in a hospital stay of more than five days, the number of reported work injuries, the number of shifts lost per employee due to injuries and the number of extraordinary events subject to reporting to the Mining Supervisory Office are assessed.
Other criteria include the total number of employees, including contractors, annual production, annual amount contributed to the clean-up and reclamation fund and the total value of this fund as of 1st January of the year following the year of assessment.
At Lazy Site of Karviná Mine there was no serious work injury reported last year. Last year, there were eight organisations in total competing in the category Deep Mining, of which five were OKD sites. This is the second time that Lazy Site has won this competition; they were first awarded the “Golden Permon” prize in 2005.
