History

The Paskov mine was formed by merging the Paskov and Staříč plants. Both of them feature a relatively short history, beginning during the period of industrialization in the communist Czechoslovakia. The construction of buildings at the Paskov and Staříč plants was commenced in 1960 and 1962, respectively. In both cases these were mining workings with a high degree of endangerment by water and gas. Exploitation at the Paskov plant started in 1966, in case of Staříč it did not start before 1971.

On January 1, 1994 the formerly separate mines of Paskov and Staříč were combined into a sole group mine (branch) of Paskov. In 1999 it was decided that activities of the Paskov plant be terminated and the plant be transferred to the Odra mine. At the present, the Paskov mined is therefore formed only of the Staříč plant at the site of the former Paskov plant.
