Better Rockbolts, Higher Production
KARVINÁ - The men in other faces can only envy! Thanks to the equipment deployed at face No. 294 205 at ČSM Mine “better results” have been achieved. According to Marian Weiser, ČSM Technical Director, it is the most successful equipment innovation last year.
“The access roadway including belt conveyor was supported only by rockbolts for the first time. At the lower dead point one roadway support and two special heavy-duty supports were installed. The face featured remarkably higher production than those equipped with the traditional supports,” explained Weiser. No doubt ČSM Mine plans to “modernize” two more faces in a similar way this year.
The coal reserves are estimated to last for at least 200 to 300 years, while in the case of oil it is mere 40 to 50 years, and in the case of uranium it is roughly a century. more »

Company code of ethics
The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.
