LAZY - The fact of equipping the new, promising no. 139704 – 1 working face at Lazy Works with the largest sections ever employed worldwide has also meant that technology had to be acquired that would be able to cope with the heightened demands imposed on transport. Such technology also includes e.g., the locomotive from Ferrit Co. of Frýdlant nad Ostravicí, Model DLZ 110 F, intended to run on the reinforced suspension groove rail ZD 24 C/100.
This locomotive featuring a new design can easily be distinguished from other suspension locomotives at the first glance – it has an added fifth propulsion mechanism, installed in front of the cabin. „Thus it can develop a traction power of up to 100 kN, which is as much as one and a half times the maximum power of many of our older locomotives,“ explained the guys from mining transport at the Level IX depot. They also spoke highly of the foot controls similar to those in an automobile featuring an automatic transmission. You only use the level to „engage“ the gears and then all you do is step on the pedal.
Also, this most powerful model employed at Lazy Mine has been joined by yet another new locomotive, with a traction power of „only“ 80 kN. As regards the suspension groove rail to be used for hauling the sections, the original one has been replaced by a sturdier structure consisting of smaller segments and featuring stronger joints and a higher carrying capacity.
