An excellent mining result has been achieved by the ČSM Mine miners in Stonava. All the six mining parties mined 287 thousand tons of coal in May. After more than three years, they have thus managed to break the previous monthly mining output record of the mine by two thousand tons.
“We are happy and properly proud that we have managed to achieve such a great result. Even last year, the mine still failed to comply with the technical regime of the mining. May’s result is perhaps the definitive turning point, a strong signal and encouragement for hitting the year-round mining target,” stated Roman Kolatek, Head of Longwall Operations at the ČSM Mine. In the same breath, he however emphasizes that even though it is primarily the success of all the mining parties, without great cooperation and proper engagement of the other people in the mine, it would not have been possible to achieve such a result. The development parties also participated in this achievement by winning 1,831 meters of mining workings, and moreover, U/G electricians and mechanics, vertical and horizontal transport and preparation plant workers were also engaged ... “In short, thanks belong to all who participated in achieving the record result in May. The whole mine team was working on full tilt,” summarizes Kolatek.
His words are also confirmed by the fact that in May, the mine registered most of this year’s target performances – a total of six: three in mining and three in development.
Kotek compares the great May’s results of ČSM Mine with the performance of a well coordinated orchestra. “If there is just one bad player, one false tone, then the overall impression of the played piece is at least very embarrassing.” However, this was not the case in the ČSM Mine in May. All the “players” perfectly played their scores.
