KARVINÁ MINE – 105 thousand tons of coal with a total advancement of 150 metres! The sixth best result in the monthly mining and the eighth best one in the advancement, experienced in the Karviná Mine, ČSA Mining Plant over the last ten years! That’s a September achievement of Alpex contractor’s team, consisting of 120 workers and headed by Ireneusz Czarniakowski, Head of the Field and Stefan Gulak, Chief Foreman.
“It is a super team, one of the best ones in the ČSA Mining Plant for a long time,“ Petr Škorpík, Production Manager of the Karviná Mine appreciates Polish miners’ work. However, he immediately adds that this time, the team was strengthened by one crew of Tadeusz Swed’s working party, headed by Rostislav Kolář, Foreman. “It was done so as to ensure a really continuous operation, including Saturdays and Sundays,“ he explains.
The extraordinary result was born in a field of the Doubrava pillar, in Coalface 22 3452/1. The mining at a length of 160 metres and thickness of 3.1 metres was carried out by means of Cutting-Loading Machine KGS 440 RW, Mechanical Support FAZOS 15/31 MOD and other equipment. The average daily advancement for 30 working days was 5 metres and the daily mining output amounted to 3,500 tons. The working party also complied with the limit mining output parameters, and after the excellent result from the end of the last year, they have recorded another achievement.
“The result is even more precious in the light of the fact that it is the remotest work area in the whole mine,“ Petr Škorpík emphasizes the fact that the success has not come just so. “The distance from the mine shaft is approximately four kilometres. The guys must go on a rail and suspension locomotive and must walk the rest of the distance. It takes them approximately one hour. If they, i.e. both the Polish and Czech miners, had not worked on extended shifts, they would have never accomplished such an objective.“
“If the work goes well, it is of course super. At last, we got a coalface which offered solid conditions, and the guys have managed to take advantage of that,“ Ireneusz Czarniakowski, Head of the Coal Field specifies his view. “What we are building on is qualified and experienced personnel. Key is the cooperation with the maintenance & service personnel, i.e. mechanists, central mucking workers, central maintenance personnel, conveyance personnel and others. Without their efforts, it would not have been possible to accomplish any such objective. At present, the guys from Tadeusz Szwed’s working party have helped us. And if all stick together, a lot of things can be achieved.“
In the Karviná Mine, ČSA Mining Plant, all working parties of Alpex contractor, who unambiguously lead the production, are currently successful. They mine three out of nine active coalfaces and deliver approximately 60 per cent of the total mining output.
