The Jiří Hantschel´s drifting teams from the P2 field in the Paskov mine led by Alois Pavelek have a double reason to celebrate. As a matter of fact, on Thursday, July 21, the chief foreman received as many as two awards from the OKD management in the competitions for the best development worker of the mine – for accident-free operation and for order at the workplace.
"In the first half of this year, the team did not record a single accident and it rightly deserves the first place in the area of occupational safety and hygiene. In the period from April to June 2011, it has also been ranked third best within the safe workplace programme," said Ivan Ferenc, field deputy manager, adding that the Hanstchel´s team is one of the top teams in the entire pit.
This also holds for their performances at the face. This year, they have already achieved five limit performances and they are trying to reach the sixth one!
Hantschel has been the boss of this group that is formed by twenty-four men including himself for the tenth year already. “The teams are well coordinated. Good leadership can be felt there,“ said Mr. Ferenc.
Yet Hantschel & co. have not reached their this year's good results just like that. “We had to solve problems with the sinking hanging wall of the driven workings. It only improved after the bonding machine was deployed. Of course, it was an extra work operation,"said the chief foreman.
