DARKOV MINE – Within the implementation of the Production Optimization Programme 2010 (POP 2010), the Darkov Mine has completed the transport of B 26/55 mechanical support sections into Coalface 40 203. The transport and installation of 113 massive steel colossuses were carried out from 25 August until 28 September. The achieved task is even more valuable due to the fact that equipping work is in progress in a separately ventilated coalface – an outlet coal road is just being driven.
The modern mechanical support is part of the new mining complex, which will mine coal in an average thickness of 4.5 metres. Its daily capacity (considering the mining and geological conditions) is estimated at 5 to 6 thousand tons. The mining complex will be operated by a working party headed by Czeslaw Witek from the contractor company POLALPEX, who made himself familiar with the new technology directly on the premises of its manufacturer – Bucyrus, Germany. The mining complex has been installed in Coalface 40 203 since August and the commencement of its operation is expected to occur at the turn of October.
