CHLEBOVICE – The last delivery within the historically largest capital project of OKD, known as POP 2010, is absolutely the first mining complex of Bucyrus for the Paskov Mine. In the Staříč shaft, it will be used by the most experienced and currently also best mining party led by Chief Foreman Petr Prokop from T3 Section, headed by Michal Hykl. As scheduled, they will start using it from the end of the summer already.
State-of-the-art equipment deep underground
The first section of BUC 650/2005 was sunk in a specially adjusted transport vessel in Chlebovice in early July. In the second week of July, i.e. outage week, other eleven sections were sunk down the mine shaft. “The coal head length is 171 meters, and we plan to apply a total of 114 pieces,” specified Václav Halfar, POP 2010 Manager, Paskov Mine. Apart from the said type, six terminal sections with extended roof bars will also be installed at the edges of the longwall.
Prokop’s team will be provided with the “conventional” Paskov plough technology. The coal mining machinery GH 9-38 is however modified, and within the POP 2010, it has also been upgraded. “The modified plough body, stronger gearboxes and drives, four 135/400 kW motors, tool holders with better shape …” stated Halfar.
POP has improved both safety and efficiency
In the OKD coal district, there are ten POP 2010 mining complexes in service, and the preparation of further two ones is in progress. There are twenty-five driving machine sets. “The Paskov plough is really the last equipment provided under the POP 2010 Program. From the perspective of financing and contracts, it was included in Phase 2 of POP 2010,” said Richard Pavlík, Project Manager. This Program had its premiere in the spring 2008 in the form of a Sandvik roadheader in the Darkov Mine.
However, the POP 2010 Program end does not in any case mean any stop of further upgrading! “Since the PERSPective 2015 Program was announced, all investments in driving and mining equipment have been recorded as the regular machinery renovation,” explained Pavlík.
