Relocations of two mining complexes, acquired under POP 2010 Program, in Darkov Mine

25.8.2010

DARKOV – Hot days on the surface, as well as in the mine, were experienced by the Mining Technical Service personnel in the Darkov Mine. It was just in the greatest heat of July when they were finishing two great relocations of the mining equipment, acquired under the POP 2010 Program – one relocation was carried out without any disassembly, and the other one with disassembly.

38 tons on the groove

A ninety-man party of the Mechanical Section, headed by Zbyněk Glogar, Chief Foreman, and supported by members of other teams, was moving, by the method of direct relocation, 93 sections of high supports BC 2600/5500, weighing thirty-eight tons, as well as a sub-face conveyor and a coalface conveyor in Darkov Mining Plant 3. The working party also transported an Eichoff SL 500 cutter-loader after repair on the surface, as well as newly purchased belt conveyors BC Belt 1200.

“We have relocated the large equipment, purchased under the POP Program, for the second time, however at this time, the transport distance was twice as long (1.5 km), and the transport was carried out in more demanding inclination conditions. A new thing consisted in our relocating the sections along the suspension groove directly from the place of robbing of mine workings to the fastening location, without using any means of transportation. In spite of that, we managed to transport up to five sections per day, and the relocation was completed in less than three months,” Karel Majetný, Head of the Mining Technical Service in the Darkov Mine, described the relocation progress.

For the first time with disassembly

In a certain sense, a path-breaking task was completed by members of an 80-man working party of the Mechanical Section, Mining Technical Service, headed by Marek Szelong, Chief Foreman. In cooperation with other miners, they were relocating medium-sized mining equipment, acquired under the POP 2010 Program, from Coalface 237 503, located in the area of the auxiliary mining plant,  to Coalface 37 900, located in Mining Plant 2. For the first time, they carried it out with disassembly, which had to be done due to a 3.5 km long transport distance and passageway profiles.

Along the strengthened suspension groove ZD 24, they relocated a total of 75 sections of BC 1300/3200 mechanical support, SL 300 cutter-loader, PF 6 coalface conveyor, PZF 11 sub-face conveyor, two DP 1200 belt conveyors, complete hydraulic pump unit and other equipment. During the liquidation and equipping processes, a rack railway track was used in both the coalfaces. The relocation was also completed in less than three months in spite of worsened climatic conditions.
