The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.
KARVINÁ – This long and cold winter prepared a real trial by fire for the Coal Preparation Plant personnel. The railway tracks flooded again and again by terrible snow downpours, flooded and frozen switches, snow and frost - these are certainly not the conditions that the outdoor operation personnel would long to have.
“Yes, it was difficult,” Josef Rabiáš, Head of Karviná Mine Preparation Plant has also confirmed. “The winter has thoroughly checked us on the railway tracks, stockpiles, as well as in loading coal into wagons from the Coal Preparation Plant, when coal froze and all the handling became complicated. And in this winter, we really experienced a lot of freezing days with temperatures of below minus fifteen or even twenty degrees Celsius,” Rabiáš described the situation experienced recently.
All the more satisfying is the fact that in spite of those obstacles, both the Coal Preparation Plants of the Karviná Mine were not behind the schedule with work and have fulfilled their tasks both in the process operation and maintenance areas. “Black gold“ also continued to be dispatched as scheduled. In spite of the problems with wagon availability this January, the employees of Coal Preparation Plants in ČSA and Lazy Mining Plants loaded and prepared for dispatch more than 150 thousand and 100 thousand tons of all produced coal types respectively. In total, it represents a train consisting of 4,630 four-axle, “V”- type wagons designed for coal and coke transport at a total length of more than 67 kilometres.
“In particular, it results from the dedication and efforts of all the people from the Coal Preparation Plants,” stated Rabiáš. “And what is particularly important is the fact that in spite of the severe winter conditions, we also managed to comply with the quality parameters of dispatched coal, as set for the individual customers. I am convinced that this time, the working parties of both the Coal Preparation Plants really deserve recognition,” said the Head of Karviná Mine Coal Preparation Plants.
