KARVINÁ – Tropical heats trouble people on the surface, and miners in the mines also struggle with heat. Whereas for the people on the surface, it is something extraordinary, for the miners, it is just a routine task. Therefore, the natural ventilation system, as well as a well-designed air conditioning system is very important to any mine.... more
CHLEBOVICE – The last delivery within the historically largest capital project of OKD, known as POP 2010, is absolutely the first mining complex of Bucyrus for the Paskov Mine. In the Staříč shaft, it will be used by the most experienced and currently also best mining party led by Chief Foreman Petr Prokop from T3 Section, headed by Michal Hykl. STAŘÍČ – For the Paskov Mine, the output, mining and safety results meant its this year’s first inscription on the stand of the OKD Miner’s Lamp Itinerant Trophy. It means that no other pit of our district generated better results for the first quarter as regards the output, the metrage or safety. At Staříč and Chlebovice, this meant 220 thousand tons of coal, 3542 metres of drifts and ZERO serious injuries.... more

DARKOV – The new mining technology equipment, provided under the POP 2010 Production Optimization Programme, has gained great reputation in our mine. Most recently, it has deserved words of appreciation in the Darkov Mine. The medium complex of Bucyrus DBT 1,3/3,1 was delivered there at the end of the last year, and the local workers decided not to caress it.... more
LAZY – A unique operation has been completed by the Mining Technical Service equipment and liquidation personnel of the Karviná Mine. In the period of 12 February to 12 March, i.e. over 29 operating days, using the so-called direct relocation method, they moved en bloc 106 sections of the largest and heaviest mechanized support in the OKD history – Bucyrus DBT 2800/6000.... more
PASKOV MINE– If the Paskov Mine had had to purchase completely new TH (Touissant – Heitzmann) supports, the costs would have reached an amount somewhere between thirty and forty million Czech Crowns. However, the Paskov Mine did not have to! The issue was taken care of by the renovation workshops located in Staříč and Chlebovice.... more

The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.
