OSTRAVA (January 14, 2009) – OKD has completed the refurbishment process of the hoisting equipment located at the concrete hoisting tower at Staříč Site, Paskov Mine last week. PASKOV Mine – What is strictly forbidden and punished in other mines is permitted and offered in the Staříč Plant of Paskov Mine. It’s a drive on the belt together with mined coal. This option may be used by the miners on the 5th floor at a depth of 1,192 metres in Cross-Cut 2252. They may go on the belt along an 800 m long section. They may thus save their pains, and in the mine, their strength is required more than enough.... more

It was built in Production Hall 3 at the OKD Bastro site in Ostrava in Mining Profile K 16, and its length is 64 metres. ČSM Mine – An absolute elite among the coal hewing gangs at CSM Mine in Stonava is represented by the crew of chief headman Karel Szczotka from Section 3 South, headed by Luděk Malášek. KARVINÁ MINE – 105 thousand tons of coal with a total advancement of 150 metres! The sixth best result in the monthly mining and the eighth best one in the advancement, experienced in the Karviná Mine, ČSA Mining Plant over the last ten years! STAŘÍČ – Miners from Paskov Mine can only be envied by other crews. Because they are allowed to do legally what all others always – since time immemorial – have been strictly discouraged from doing and for what they were incurring heavy penalties. Namely, to ride the conveyor belt carrying the burden when leaving the workplace! Of course, this permit does not apply mine-wide, but so far only for a section 605 meters in length, of the thwarting no. 2252 at level V.... more
DARKOV MINE – Within the implementation of the Production Optimization Programme 2010 (POP 2010), the Darkov Mine has completed the transport of B 26/55 mechanical support sections into Coalface 40 203. The transport and installation of 113 massive steel colossuses were carried out from 25 August until 28 September. The achieved task is even more valuable due to the fact that equipping work is in progress in a separately ventilated coalface – an outlet coal road is just being driven.... more

The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.
