STAŘÍČ At the beginning, this coalface number 084.364 on the level V of the Staříč coalmine seemed promising, but later this coalface became tricky because of the encountered tectonic fault. Mr. Klaus Dieter Beck, the chief executive officer of OKD together with other managers passed through this coalface on Thursday, 18th January.
ČSM MINE- New experiment started up in last November in ČSM Mine. For the first time of the history of the mine they experienced to shift 15 tons sections to the distance of nine kilometres without dismantling them. The production manager Mr. Petr Skyva said that the main reason for this solution was the occupational safety and he also mentioned its economic profit. Newly installed face in the mine plant North had to start the coal production in January 2008. STAŘÍČ Ostraviens are nostalgic! They are missing good „traditional“ work, good, well-earned money. They are missing work in the mine and miner job! They are just inhabitants of Moravia-Silesia metropolis who are applying the most often for a job in Paskov Mine, the only one mine in operation out of Karviná district. In January there was really no end of them. In spite of it the mine has been short of people for productive account for more than half a year. „Actually we are missing thirty five men for mining operations. As a figure it can look as not much high number but in fact this is a lot of. It takes about three years till the newcomer takes the experience to be able to do a qualified job. Company code of ethics
The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.
