SOSNOWIEC – Those wishing to keep abreast of the world's top mining technology could not be missing from MINING EXPO, the world mining technology exhibitions held on 9 through 12 September at Sosnowiec in Poland.
Their new fairgrounds facility – the Expo Silesia Exhibitions & Fairs Center and its vicinity were the scene where more than 280 exhibitors from 23 countries of the world congregated. They included the world's forefront manufacturers of machinery, equipment, and accessories for the mining industry. Special group exhibitions were presented by companies from China, India, Australia, Turkey, and United Kingdom. The gathering also included exhibitors from Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, the Netherlands, Ireland, Israel, Japan, Canada, Germany, Poland, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, the United States, Sweden, and Italy.
This year's MINING EXPO world exhibition of mining technology also was part of the 21st International Mining Congress. That was held on 7 through 11 September in four Poland's cities, attended by mining specialists and scientists. The main topic discussed was the new technologies and techniques as well as the coal extraction technologies, under the banner of „The mining industry's new challenges and visions“.
The MINING EXPO world mining technology exhibition was visited by representatives of OKD Corporation and by delegations of engineers and technicians from the various OKD mines.
The Expo Silesia Exhibitions & Fairs Center where the MINING EXPO world exhibition of mining technology took place was opened only in January this year. It incorporates an air-conditioned exhibition hall offering a floor area of 13 500 m2 for exhibits, conference rooms seating 400, and a parking lot that can accommodate one thousand automobiles. Erection of further pavilions will continue. The final objective of Expo Silesia is to reach a total floor area of 35 thousand meters square.
