The harmonized team of Bohumír Pitel from the Lazy Colliery proved that they were not only good in coal getting
LAZY COLLIERY The beginning of the new year can be quite problematic in a coalmine. After the rush and holidays in December, miners need some time to start work and go with their usual speed. However, it was not true this year for the team of foreman Bohumír Pitel. The opposite was true.
Coalface shortened by 27 powered supports sections
Miners started this year with performance, which deserves the admiration. The task was to shorten the coalface by 27 sections of powered supports. These heavy complexes weighing many tons, were incrementally withdrawn and transported to a dismantling room and after dismantling, they were transported to a new coalface. Parts of heavy-duty armoured conveyor were transported to the surface. At the same time, while the coalface was shortened, the haulage system was reconstructed, defect parts on the bunker conveyor were replaced and the mechanical equipment was subjected to routine maintenance.
Harmonized team and the right trick
Anyone, who worked in coalfaces, installed or transported the heavy-duty complexes, knows how difficult this work is. The success is conditioned by the harmonized team, the knowledge and right trick of all members involved and of course, a perfect organization and coordination of all works.
Coalface start-up accelerated by 6 days
The team of Bohumír Pitel proved to be capable to do it. In collaboration with the personnel of mining and technical services, this team did the excellent work, although this task was not quite usual for miners. They achieved the record and the coalface was shortened in 12 days and a new coalface started six days earlier than it was planned. It certainly deserves a special mention!
Of course, the other employees taking part in this excellent result deserve the honourable mention. These people are primarily the miners and engineers and also fitters, conveyance personnel and other professionals.
