TRIO is said to be a small haulage revolution

17.3.2008
"The tramguys" from CSM South composed a set o three braking cars

STONAVA Small revolution in the area of underground haulage. This is how the people in the specialized underground workings of CSM South and CSM North Collieries talk about the innovation for higher safety of transport of things on the monorail. Three hydraulic braking cars were connected in one set; it is called BV-TRIO or BTs-TRIO.

“The increasing weight of the transported loads like supports or shearers brought about the necessity to have more consistent and more reliable security machines in transport of extraordinarily heavy loads on the overhead monorail tracks.  One of the options has thus become the use of a set of three pieces of hydraulic braking cars interconnected in triple," explained Milan Čierny from the Stonava South plant.

The invention of the “tramguys”, as the chaps from the local production division of transport are called, has become a central point of attention at the colliery. “It is as if three small prams were running on the overhead monorail”, said head, Štěpán Přibyl. He and his colleagues together with “underground” photographer stands behind the series of photos of the TRIO complex.

The innovations is supposed to expand and it must be duly promoted. “It is also necessary to make people acquainted with the operation including the start-up. We initiated a compilation of a document that can be used as a part of technological procedures. It also informs of correct handling with the device,” concluded Mr. Čierny. The value of the TRIO “locos” is expressed in hundreds of thousands of crowns and it is better to keep hands away from them without proper training.
