The future
With regards to dwindling reserves of oil, in the near future coal will become the only affordable fossil fuel. In many respects it will have to replace oil in the chemical industry and other operations.
However, the main concerns deal with the future energy utilization of coal. Experts are searching for inexpensive methods of conversion of coal to high-quality environment-friendly fuel for cars and method of improving its properties for combustion in power-plants. This is not a new effort - the issue of replacing oil products with coal was solved by Germany during the world wars thanks to the technology of large-scale production of synthetic petrol.
In the future, carbon from coal or its combustion gases will become the basis for production of new materials which will replace metals and plastic materials.

Company code of ethics
The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.
