Prague / Ostrava (November 2, 2011) - Websites www.okd.cz once again succeeded in the prestigious contest WebTop100, which
assesses the web presentation of Czech companies. In the category of industry we have got the second place just one tenth of a point behind Fortell company and left behind giants like Unipetrol, Vítkovice Holding, ArcelorMittal and Siemens. In classification of all companies, the site that OKD prepared in cooperation with Cyber Fox got eighth place in overall ranking, which is the best position of all the North Moravian companies.
"Our company is no longer state or semistate giant, we want to be open as much as we can. All information on our web-site would be interesting not only to the public, but also to students and professionals. We are really pleased for award, because our internet presentation is not designed for direct support of business and thus we have a lower budget for it and time capacity compared with other companies. We do not sell anything on the web, unlike banks, telecom operators and power companies, it only serves to increase transparency," said Vladislav Sobol, OKD spokesman.
The jurors appreciated that the site is aimed not only on the strict description of the company. "There are beneficial, useful
and interesting information not only from the operation of the company, but also a variety of interesting facts about coal mining. A specific group of visitors will appreciate the variety of tales and stories that are on the site. Mining vocabulary and quiz also find its visitors," said Michael Spacek, Internet expert.
OKD launched interactive presentation www.okd.cz/my this fall, which brings the importance of coal for the Czech economy and for daily
life of people. Next year the company plans major changes to its website. Graphic concept will be changed, but also the structure and content of the web.
