As a reward for OKD as the main partner of theatre festival, organizers of Summer Shakespeare Festival have prepared special program for children with competitions, games, theater and circus at the Silesian Castle. They invited families of mining company employees and also clients of shelters, which cooperates with the OKD Foundation.
“We sent a hundred wristlets at every shaft, which served as a ticket. Plus another to Center of repairing services,” informed Mark Síbrt from OKD PR department. We invited more than a hundred other people from the mothers and children shelters. Two facilities from Ostrava and one from Karviná, Havířov Ludgeřovice and Třinec accepted this invitation. One of the contests was a “ride” on skis fitted by string for couples. The whole family of Tomáš Šťastný, worker of transportation dept. in Chlebovice area, enjoyed this. “My daughters, wife and I were exactly according our surname – happy (Šťastný is Happy – redaction note). It's nice to have organize something like that even in holidays,” said the head of the family. “We had everything well prepared outdoors, but the rain drove us in to the castle. There also was a play Cannies on the road (Šikulové na cestách), familiar from TV. Each child also got a little freebie,” said one the organizer Vladimír Polák. Shakespeare group haven't played for the first time for OKD company, they played Romeo and Juliet only for OKD employees last year.
