Armed fighters from Israel, Task Force customs officers from Germany, flight acrobats swarm from Turkey, AWACS surveillance aircraft with a crew, who returned from combat action over Lybia, and mine rescuers from Ostrava-Radvanice performed on the last weekend of September before 225 thousand people. Such as huge was the attendance of the NATO Days 2011 at the airport in Mošnov.
“We have been there as a part of Moravian Silesian County Integrated Rescue System. We are regularly participating in NATO Days, never missed even one of eleven years to present our work and technique” Václav Tesarčík from HBZS, who organized action of mine rescuers, informed. Five members of the squad with two cars went to Ostrava. Children were attracted mainly by the large forklift platform DENKA 30L. “But we couldn´t lift them to 30 m of height. Because of aircrafts”, Tesarčík said. US soldiers and pilots admired a diving Mercedes Benz-Unimog with equipment. Guys from HBZS let the Americans try diving helmet and boots.
Mine rescuers are seen on more public events such as celebration of Miners Day or Integrated Rescue System exhibition in Silesian Castle, but also in NATO Days, where they have the biggest audience. “Soldiers, firefighters, admirers of military equipment came to see us. We also had figurines, one in climbing, the other one in underground rescue suit,” Tesarčík added.
