HAVÍŘOV – A joint memorandum on cooperation with RPG Real Estate Group was signed in mid-year by the representatives of Havířov Town; the agreement addresses the former Dukla Mine site preparation for new use. Several days ago the town councillors had the news that these activities will also receive state support. The Ministry of Labor and Trade pledged more than CZK 200 million in support of the site preparation works. This sum will go toward the construction of infrastructure; electric and gas distribution networks; sewerage; water supply lines; public lighting networks; and also roadways and sidewalks.
Inasmuch as the subsidy can only be used toward financing the construction of infrastructure on land owned by the municipality, negotiations with RPG will now follow concerning the transfers of their land plots.
The former Dukla Mine site area could be ready for redevelopment by the future investors as early as by the end of 2010 or during 2011. The activities envisaged for the site include light industrial manufacturing, services, and also the erection of leisure-time cultural and sports facilities.
