St. Barbara Civil Association has its 2009 Annual Report

13.9.2010

OSTRAVA – The election of Marta Szamaránská for the Committee member, mothers’ possibility to be engaged in the Association’s activities, increase of the help for children and of the contributions to cover the study costs by one half to CZK 1.1 million, computers or notebooks to be provided already from the seventh class of the elementary school, contributions to cover the Internet costs, positive business balance. These were the key events in the St. Barbara Civil Association.

The 2009 Annual Report of the St. Barbara Civil Association, issued thanks to its media partner - R MEDIA, Horník Weekly publisher, also mentions a new financial help. Emphasis is laid upon the education. “And in my opinion, it is the most important investment for any person,” Klaus-Dieter Beck, OKD Chief Executive Officer stated in the St. Barbara Civil Association Annual Report.

The St. Barbara Civil Association also speaks highly of and thanks very much for the collections, which represent “an interesting income stream” from its sympathizers, whether they are mine workers or other residents of the Region. Last year, they could learn more about the St. Barbara Civil Association. Its logo was also adjusted and the “Světluška” (“Lightning-Bug”) Magazine was established in the Czech and Polish language versions. And what about the children? They enjoyed their trips and “BarboRadování” (St. Barbara Enjoyment Event) best.
