The school, which restored mining apprenticeships after twenty years, reports the news
Mechanic of mining machinery and equipment. This is the name of a new four-year graduation study, which SŠTaS Karviná opens from 1st of September for 2012/2013 school year. The gap between mining apprenticeship education and the highest level of university education will be filled.
„Future graduates of the new mining studies will gain a great chance for getting the post of the foreman for the mining company. But their career in OKD may begin after graduating from VŠB-TU in Ostrava, which follows after high school," said Iva Sandriová, SŠTaS Director. For those interested in studying are the last remaining vacancies.
It is likely that mining school in this context will announce a second round of the admissions process. "We will no longer organize entrance exams," the director noted. Mining graduation field is not the only novelty according her. OKD is also asked for the opening of the evening study of the Operational technology with the focus on mining primarily for employees with a certificate, which are missing graduation for career promotion. Also begins in September, the capacity of the field is completely filled.
Other significant regional company has been inspired by successful cooperation of SŠTaS with OKD on preparation of miner apprentices and subsequently graduates. And that company is VOKD, which is, among other things, also supplier for mines in the Ostrava-Karviná district, which is also interested in professionals for mining operations.
„This is another very important event in the life of the school. During uncertain economic situation of the country and citizens, with the growing unemployment, is optimistic and encouraging, that large companies are interested in preparing their future employees. VOKD and OKD are providing thousands of jobs in the region and they are the support and confidence," said Sandriová.
According her, VOKD is interested about employees for the preparation of mine sites, asks for mechanics and electricians educated in the field. They will, as well as OKD, support apprentices by scholarships in the amount of thousand crowns a month. "The agreement with the VOKD management represented by Ivo Přibyl and Jan Březina is already signed. Students fulfilling the necessary conditions will start this year," said Director.
