The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.

OSTRAVA – If in a mine you come across a person in dark blue trousers and an electric-red jacket with distinctive yellow reflexive stripes, make way for them! It is either a Mines Rescue Service doctor or paramedic, in a hurry to reach a place of accident or a miner who started to feel unwell. The front of the blouse features a first aid cross sign and the back an inscription of the Ostrava Mines Rescue Service.... more
ČSM MINE – The working party, led by Roman Valchař, Senior Foreman, and mining coal at Coalface 402 302/1, South Mining Plant of ČSM Mine, while using high complex machinery, has been provided with distinctive and noticeable safety elements under POP 2010 Programme. The safety elements comprise information panels and stop-lights, indicating the sign of “no entry” into any “endangered area” for example when a shearer loader is moving or sections are being relocated. It is an innovation in the OKD Mine District! And also one of the good ideas registered within the Continuous Improvement Project.... more
OSTRAVA – From September until mid January, the Main Mine Rescue Service workers replaced 8,600 personal lamps by the state-of-the-art lamp type T 1005.01 in the individual mines. The replacement has already been completed in the Paskov Mine, and is in progress in the other mines now.... more
ORLOVÁ – A modern cleaning line which has been in operation in the Service Centre (the Lazy Mine) since October 30, will significantly increase the quality and improve the working conditions in the field of the preparation of the mining machinery for repair.... more
OSTRAVA – Exactly thirteen thousand new Dräger OXY K 50 S German-made self-rescuer devices are currently employed in the OKD mining district. They are used in the mines by miners in all the pits with the exception of the Paskov Mine where so far it was handed out to the technicians only. At the same time, the first improvement suggestions within the scope of the Continuous Improvement programmes were submitted.... more
DARKOV – A rare visitor arrived in the Darkov Mine on October 12. Ivo Pěgřímek, President of the Czech Mining Office visited the stope No. 40 204, accompanied by the Klaus-Dieter Beck, the OKD CEO, and other managers of our mining company. OSTRAVA – The opening of the 4th International Conference of the International Mines Rescue Body (IMRB), hosted on September 21 – 25 by the Main Mines Rescue Station (HBZS) in Ostrava, was successful and, especially, industrious.
