PASKOV MINE - The new vehicle made available recently to the rescue crew of Paskov Mine has not seen any „live action“ yet, so it shows an imaginary zero on its speedometer. This is an extended version of Volkswagen Crafter van worth more than a million, which only arrived in its garage at Chlebovice shaft near Frýdek-Místek for the first time on Friday, November 7. May it stay at a standstill there as long as possible!
„It can be said that the vehicle holds all our basic equipment,“ added Karel Bajza, who works as mechanic and driver at Paskov Mine's Rescue Station. The rescue crew's working clothes remain as only items yet to be stowed away in the vehicle's extension, which makes it different at the first glance from series-produced cars. It holds a tub for transport of the injured, suction type splints, resuscitation equipment, stretchers, breathing devices, detection or indication instruments ...
The seats with special covers to contain the dirt from the rescuers' clothes can accommodate a total of seven persons. That is, a crew of five plus the commander and the mechanic. This emergency vehicle is destined for interventions at both our locations, that is, Chlebovice and Staříč, as well as for assistance anywhere in the Karviná district,“ Bajza explained, adding that previously the emergencies were answered with an old Avia A75 model. You ask whether this new car is better? Definitely, but we haven't tested it yet. Fortunately we didn't have to,“ the rescue crew member added.
