Hard hats now being marked with reflective numbers at CSA Mine

KARVINÁ – Red-colored for technicians, blue-colored for „rank-and-file“. This is the markings being applied onto miners' hard hats at CSA Works of Karviná Mine since August. Each and every one will receive a reflecting sticker with the miner's name tag number. Quite a novelty in the OKD mining district! Darkov Mine Laboratory probing into coal, air, and water quality

KARVINÁ – The Works Laboratory of the Quality control and inspection department at Darkov Mine is not engaged merely in checking and inspecting the quality of fuels, as its name might suggest. In addition to determinations of the values of the various parameters important to the coal grades intended for sale, i.e., their ash content, analytical water, volatile combustibles, swelling index, dilation, combustion heat required to compute the heat value (calorific value), sulfur, and phosphorus in the fuel samples, the laboratory also monitors the indicators of working conditions prevailing at the mine.
