Commission approves aid for German coal mining companies
The Commission approved today State aid covering exceptional costs – resulting from the restructuring and closure of mines – and granting current production aid to German coal mining companies in 2009.
The Commission verified whether the measures notified for the year 2009 were in line with the approved restructuring plan for the years 2006 to 2010. It considers that both measures – the aid covering exceptional costs and the current production aid – are in compliance with the restructuring plan.
The Commission underlines that it authorizes the annual aid payments for the year 2009 on the consideration that the German mines will be capable to reduce the overall (actual) aid amount related to the current production and the production volumes compared to previous years.

Company code of ethics
The Board of Directors of OKD has adopted a Company code of ethics that is obligatory for all the employees of the firm. It defines basic values and attitudes to enterprise that OKD conforms to in the course of its business activities.
The code of ethics is not any binding rule of law or internal directive, it represents, however, a moral obligation for each employee of OKD.
