An Amendment to the OKD Collective Agreement guarantees a three-percent tariff increase and inflation matching

Ostrava, (5 April 2012) – Negotiations on the Wage Amendment to the Collective Agreement have been successfully completed in the mining company OKD. They have resulted in an agreement that guarantees the employees a three-percent wage tariff increase to match inflation.

Under the Agreement, the employees are also entitled to receive a holiday bonus amounting to fourteen average daily earnings and a Christmas bonus amounting to sixteen average daily earnings.

“It is a wise compromise beneficial to both the employees and preservation of the company’s long-term prospects,” Radim Tabášek, Chief HR and Mining District Development Officer said after the Amendment was concluded.

In 2011, OKD employed 13,305 people, (so-called average employee count). Last year, the average wage reached CZK 36,498 in OKD and the average monthly earnings of the mine employees increased by CZK 2,245 to CZK 35,123 from the previous year.
