OKD has become the most admired mining company of the year

PRAGUE / OSTRAVA (10th April 2008) – OKD has become the most admired mining company of 2008. The company was ranked first in the “Mineral resources mining” category within the competition of 100 most admired Czech companies in 2008 by a committee composed of managers, analysts, representatives of professional bodies and trade unions. It was Petra Mašínová, OKD CPRO, who received the prize today at the competition announcement.

According to the competition organizers, ranking does not depend on financial results of the company but on quality of products, employer-employee relationship, environmental care or charity and CSR activities.

“We consider this competition to be a renowned and important element developing the corporate culture. OKD Foundation has been launched this year and we are preparing further activities ensuring higher transparency of the company, supporting the region and enhancing further the employee care so we would like to score in the main competition next year as well,” said Mrs. Mašínová.

This competition has been organized by Czech Top 100 creating every year the ranking list assessing Czech companies since 1994. It has set itself an aim of providing better information on the Czech business environment, supporting good relationships between managers and mediating the information to public via media.
