OKD introduces its aid to the region

OSTRAVA (Sep 29, 2008) – OKD introduces its new logo and another vision of OKD’s aid to the North-Moravian Region. Media have already started to publish series of texts and photographs that are proving the OKD’s support in cultural, environmental, educational, health and sports area in particular in the Ostrava and Karviná regions.


The particular projects are presented by prominent people, which are directly connected with the mining business, for instance the Vice-Chancellor of the Ostrava Mining University Tomáš Čermák, the Mayor of the Stonava - town Ondřej Feber, the President of the Colours of Ostrava festival Zlata Holušová or the captain of the Karviná handball team Tomáš Heinz.


„Due to the OKD’s and the Foundation Medicus’s financial support the Karviná Miners‘ Hospital owns a state-of-the-art equipment for diagnostics on oncologic diseases worth many millions. Only a few other hospitals in the Czech republic are in possession of such an high tech equipment,“ says in one of his presentations another notable representative of the region the director of the Karviná Miners‘ Hospital Ivan Stejskal.


Other series present significant reclamation projects of OKD, which are bringing more green vegetation and purer water resources to the region. Proved by for example by pictures of the Stonava stream showing the returned crawfishes.
